How does the idea of losing weight feels for you? Because for me it makes me sick!

Losing weight is really upsetting and for me it is just a hard thing to do. Although, we can actually initiate it whenever we like to but to maintain it is the greatest challenge of all. Definitely, it takes a lot of patience and a handful of discipline to succeed in cutting these excessive baggage.  Moreover, I am really determined to lose these extra weights I have but I just don’t know how to do it effectively.

I have almost given up this desire when I got inspired with the new season of Pinoy Biggest Loser. I am not as large as the contestants but like them, I also felt shameful with my looks and had lost confidence of myself. Hearing all their stories and problems in life made me feel that I am not alone in this situation and mine is even not as bad as them but unlike me, they still believe that they can change. I really found it helpless then to cut down my weight because I cannot maintain the exercises I had previously started. Knowing the stories of biggest losers of today’s season makes me inspired again and with them I am joining their journey towards healthier life.

Having TV shows like Biggest Loser do not just help the contestants in their weight problems but also help and inspire viewers like me to value myself and don’t lose hope. Indeed, it is not just entertaining but is more informative in the sense that it teaches us ways and tips on how to deal with our problems ourselves.

My hubby has been taking a lot of pharmaceutical drugs in the last year and a half. The side effects that he has experienced have ranged from bad to disastrous with most of them. We have decided to try to stick with all natural products but it is sometimes difficult to figure out which ones actually really help him. It sounded very intriguing and we ordered a bottle of it when they were having a special promotion.  We only paid $9.95 for shipping and handling.  We had tried it and it tasted great.  Unfortunately,  just one bottle did not help my hubby’s inflammation problems.

Trying to Lose Weight?

Are you a dancer or an aspiring one? Are you one of those trying to lose some weights? Then why don’t you try to connect with the new dance game Kinect?

On the other hand, it is just then when my friends introduce me with Kinect as an avenue for us to express ourselves and have fun, that I found a connection with Kinect. Kinect is the Xbox dance game that utilizes 4-way sensors that detect body movements while we dance off. Dance steps are even flashed in large screens that are easy to follow. Sophisticated, this game is but it is very helpful in making us move while having fun with friends. It contains a number of dance modules that are varied where we can choose what kind of dance we want. It has reggaes, tangos, hip-hops, novelties, swag, Zumbas and a lot more.

Sounds so fun, isn’t it? But it doesn’t come expensive and/or difficult. Kinect units are available in a number of malls anywhere and in some KTV bars whose rates are highly affordable for you and your friends because with Kinect fun does not need to be costly. With Kinect, we are more than just connected, we are having good times while burning out extra calories that we don’t need.

Ground Pork with Veggies

This is my own version of Pork Giniling as widely known in my native country, the Philippines.  Ground pork is the primary ingredient in this recipe.  Then I added a variety of vegetables that both my hubby and I like.  I like this dish because it is very easy to prepare.

Ingredients:

1 lb ground pork
1 lb of oriental vegetables (Walmart)
1 medium sized onion, minced
1 piece of pork cube
1 tablespoon granola oil
1 cup water
4 cloves garlic, crushed

Cooking Procedure:

1. Heat the pan and pour-in the granola oil
2. When the hot is hot, saute the garlic until it becomes brownish
3. Saute the onions until the texture becomes soft
4. Add the pork and water. Simmer for 20 minutes
5. Put the veggies altogether then simmer for another few minutes
6. Add salt, ground black pepper to taste
7. Serve hot

Drink Water on an Empty Stomach

My hubby usually drinks water on an empty stomach. I did not know why, maybe it is a habit or maybe  he is just thirsty. I did not know the health benefits of drinking water on an empty stomach until one day I came across an article online.  I don’t know if it works or not but the following is some of the things that are stated in the article.

Drinking water on an empty stomach works in treating many conditions such as headache, body aches, accelerated heart beat, epilepsy, bronchitis, asthma, TB, meningitis, kidney disease,  urinary tract problems, vomiting, gastritis, diarrhea, diabetes, constipation, eye diseases, diseases of the uterus, menstrual disorders, diseases of the ear, nose and throat, just to name a few.

It is advised that you drink water as soon as you wake up in the morning even before brushing your teeth. There are recommendations on how long you should drink water on an empty stomach depending on the type of diseases you have.  I don’t really know how beneficial drinking water on an empty stomach to our bodies is but I want to give it a try.  If it works, I will make it a habit.  It has been said that we should drink eight glasses of water daily. I haven’t followed that regime because I can’t drink that much.  I only drink water when I get thirsty but maybe I should try to drink more.
